Job description
Key Responsibilities: 1. Cleaning and Maintenance: - Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. - Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and walls according to hygiene standards. - Dispose of waste and recycling materials appropriately. - Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and stored correctly. 2. Support to Kitchen Staff: - Assist in preparation of ingredients, such as peeling vegetables, and portioning meats. - Ensure all kitchen stations are stocked with necessary tools and ingredients. - Help with setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service. 3. Equipment Handling: - Operate kitchen machinery such as dishwashers, mixers, and blenders safely and efficiently. - Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to Kitchen Manager promptly. 4. Health and Safety: - Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices. - Maintain personal hygiene and wear appropriate kitchen attire, including gloves, aprons, and hairnets. - Participate in safety drills and training sessions. 5. Additional Duties: - Assist with inventory management by organizing and stocking supplies. - Support front-of-house staff with basic food preparation during peak times. - Perform other duties as assigned by Head Chef or Kitchen Manager. Qualifications and Skills: - Prior experience in a kitchen or similar environment is preferred but not required. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness. - Good physical stamina; ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods. - Excellent teamwork and communication skills. - Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
